Based on discussions I have had with various folks over the last few weeks, plus the availability of more music venues in Chatham County, I plan to open up a new Music and Arts section on this bulletin board. It will be a chance for musically inclined folks to exchange information.

Please keep it chathamcentric. However, please feel free to provide information on Chatham County based musicians and artists who may be performing outside of the county.

Any other suggestions and recommendations for this new section?

I think a folder within the folder just to notify folks about open jams and their locations would be good. I hear about a lot of them when I go to Reno's and Bynum, but its hard to get down directions and information in those settings. Pertinent information would also be things like whether the session is newbie friendly or prefers seasoned players, whether coming to just listen is allowed, etc.

Great idea! You know we have many Chatham folks that show up at some of our jobs away from Chatham County just by accident! We were at Myrtle Beach performing a few months ago and 6 Pittsboro folks walked in while we were playing. It will be nice to leave information on here every so often so if people are on vacation or traveling, they can check to see if we, or any other bands or musicians, will be in the area they are visiting. It's really nice when you are playing away from home to see some local folks in the crowd. I do have a "BigTime" friends email list, but I'm sure there are many folks that enjoy us that are not on our list. Plus, being friends with other musicians in the area, I can check and see who is playing where.
Thanks!

Definitely another great way to promote our Chatham County based musicians when they travel outside the county.

Do I need to post a quick tutorial on how to create a link to the bulletin board calendar?

How about...

"Explore Chatham County's vibrant art and music scene."

This new section is a great addition to an already great site... no matter how you describe it!
