GUSTS were likely higher, perhaps 200, than 185 (sustained) winds. May as well explain all of it. 185 or 200, meh~both destructive as we are seeing as reports come in.

I don't want to be in 45 gusts much less be in something like sustained winds of some of these vids coming out from Irma! Then again, after hurricane Fran, I'm a big 'chicken' Grin

Earned my chicken feather/stripes during Fran. 25+ trees down on property (and somehow none hit my house), but an expensive mess to clean up! Tornado spun off, twisted off top of a tall Poplar tree and then touched down and cut a path thru' woods maybe 300 yrds. away from me. YES, a tornado does sound like a train..I eventually dove UNDER the bed at worst point until it passed.
Yep chicken little and healthy respect wrapped up in one here Grin

Hoping for the best for folks in worst path of this storm.

NC Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers are traveling today to Florida to assist with Hurricane Irma relief efforts. Please keep these volunteers in your prayers. We have been asked (by Florida Baptist Disaster leaders) to set up one of our big feeding units (Unit 2- capable of doing 30,000 meals a day) in the South Miami area. We will be providing meals for people in South Florida (all the way to the Florida Keys).
