Well, it's Thursday !

BTW, unverified but this is why this song is named Thursday:  "  man who wrote the song "Thursday", which was
recorded by his best friend Jim Croce on Thursday, 13th September 1973, one week before Jim died in that tragic plane crash on Thursday, 20th "     Sad

Couple of notes after finally reading this thread.

If you are a fan of the Outlaws, Harvey Dalton Arnold, one of their former bass players has been living in NC and playing shows. I saw him last year at a free concert at Southern Village. He's connected to the Music Maker Relief Foundation in Hillsborough and has been playing at the Bullpen in Durham as well.

Going to see Roger Waters perform in Greensboro next week, who will be playing many classic Pink Floyd songs. It's not the same without the brilliant guitar work of David Gilmour, but by all accounts is still a rocking show. I last saw him on his Radio K.A.O.S. tour back in the fall of 1987.

Sad to see the passing of Gregg Allman. I knew a few of their songs, but never really got into them until a friend of mine in college played them almost every day. He even had the truck from the Eat a Peach album as a tattoo! Saw them 3 or 4 times at Walnut Creek in my radio days.

I always thought it was funny that Lynyrd Skynyrd had an anti-handgun song. Well, I guess it is really an anti-cheap handgun song. Great band.

Saw the Guess Who, sadly, without there original singer with Steppenwolf in about 1985-86. Awesome show.

Wish I had gone to the Steely Dan shows that came around a few years back, never got to see them, spent many night in college with their music playing.

Have also seen The Who, John Fogerty (thankfully after he started playing Creedence songs again), but also missed out on Deep Purple. Saw Stevie Ray in 1988, which was incredible. 5th row!

Have any of you seen the documentary 20 Feet from Stardom?

Here's a short clip about the back up singer from 'Gimme Shelter' by the Rolling Stones. Classic cut.

They preferred the angry husbands of the women they were sleeping with to be unarmed.   Wink

Me Too Yip!  Section 108 CC.   I am not really sure what to expect.  Have had the tickets since Christmas.  Last time I saw Pink Floyd was Munich back in 1977.  Holy cr*p, found a youtube of that concert.

Funny JF, the only station that would come in at the delivery room for my oldest daughter was Oldies 100.7, when it was still around, so she was born to a dog top soundtrack, including that "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" cut. I was still working there at the time, so I had the program director pull the music log for the time she was being born and burned a cd to remember it by. Big fan of the fifties stuff, absolutely. Also, if you have never explored much beyond what was a hit and on the radio from that era, there are quite a few talented artists that had limited releases or just never took off for some reason.

I was thinking of 'Gimme Three Steps' when I saw Pi's reply above!  Cool

If I remember to walk over, maybe I will say hey at Roger Waters! If not, be safe either way and have a good time. Setlist from recent shows looks great!
