This was one of the last posts that CHF made, and I believe it to be representative of him.

Men of faith may recall that Sodom and Gomorrah was almost saved by the pleas of one man that if ten faithful men could be found, perhaps God in His mercy would spare it.

For some time I have been praying on behalf of my nation, in repentance, and in hope of mercy we clearly do not deserve.  I think there are other faithful men praying similar prayers.  We are in trouble. We do deserve what we are getting. I cannot argue with the righteous judgment of God. But he allows us to pray for His mercy.

The song says it well, "I will work, I will pray, I will labor everyday!"

I see no other hope.

My assumption is there are others of faith praying mercy upon our nation all across the land.  And yet, I am clearly aware, that although Abraham prayed and the Lord sent angels to search for a few righteous men, they did not find enough to spare the cities. Some think judgment is upon us. Some hope there may yet be mercy. I do not know. Either way I will pray.

Though I sometimes found myself at odds with CHF on some issues, I do believe he was a good person.  He did not deserve the backlash he got from Chatham liberals who did harm his animals and trespassed on his property.

I hope he is now at peace with his Creator and I will always think fondly of our conversations.  He was a bright fellow and will be dearly missed.

Conservative Friend
by Genevieve Mika-Stevens

I'd nominate you for president,
If there was any way I could-
But I'm afraid that the way you speak your mind,
Might be misunderstood-

You're gutsy and opinionated,
You're blustery and you're loud-
You're patriotic and principled,
You're articulate and you're proud-

The words you speak are right on point,
They'd appeal to many a crowd-
But you damn well, politicians would say,
"Those expressions are not allowed-"

Now, I hope this move enables you,
To say what you want with ease-
And never have to worry 'bout,
Those ones you might not please-

Oh, Carolina, it's hard to let go,
Of a man who thinks like he-
But Idaho is a much safer state,
For a conservative man to be!

(Took the liberty of changing California to Carolina)

Godspeed CHF

Thank you both.  He was one who tried his best to be good, and in many, many ways, was good.  We butted heads as often as not, but I'm going to miss him at one o'clock in the morning when I need to have my faith in God validated.

His wife is a good woman, one of the best, and she cared well for him at home until he went Home.

Right now, I'm more than a bit pissed off about it all.
