I'll support the death penalty in cases like this, where there is no question he did it.

And it needs to be done so he's not viewed as a martyr in some circles.  A firing squad would be good; bullets made of pig bone, greased with lard.

I heard that he apologized for causing anyone any hurt, but if the courts weren't merciful to him, Allah would not be merciful to America.

Sounded like he didn't think he was treated fairly, and he's sorry he got caught.

His odds of dying of old age went down if only ever so slightly.  I prefer the old President McKinley pattern. Shot on September 14, 1901, the President's assasin, Czolgosz admitted the shooting and died in the electric chair on October 29, 1901.  Plenty of time. Get this over with. in the electronic age, if the upper courts cannot review the case in that amount of time it is because they do not want to, and therefore need to be replaced.
