Early models have snow for the middle of next week, and as it gets closer, many models are starting to agree on a signifigant amount.  Some have shown up to 24 inches across a wide area.  Being 4 days away, a lot could change though.

Here is an update from Van Denton (Fox8 weather):

For those of you that watch our station, you know that we have been talking about the potential for snow on March 2nd/3rd since Monday Feb. 22nd and I mentioned it to friends back on Saturday, Feb. 20th. Ironically, that heads up came from looking at the long range GFS model. That same model is now having trouble sticking to a track. But, now the time period is withing the reach of the Canadian and European Models. For the past few days...the European and Canadian Models have been consistent in bringing this storm up as a deep Low along or just off the Carolina coast Late Tuesday and Early Wednesday.  The newest set of models is now leaning toward Wed. March 3rd possibly into the morning of March 4th.  About 24 hours later.

At the same time the GFS has been flip-flopping leading me to have less confidence in what it has to say regarding this system. It just has a hard time with the track.

What I am leaning on here is that by early next week, the Low currently over the NE will begin to weaken and that will lessen the NW flow influence that the GFS may be expecting to push the Gulf coast low more east and south. If that NE low lifts out late this weekend and early next week, look for the gulf coast system to make a more NE turn with the NW flow weakening. At the same time, this NE system will continue to feed enough cold air south for this storm to produce snow. This makes some sense and has to be what the European and Canadian models see.

The Carolina 14 weather guy's blog is an awesome source!  He's nailed pretty much every storm we've recently gotten and right now he's calling for a big snowstorm next week.

The depth of the snow forecast is directly proportional to the amount of Red Bull the forecaster has consumed in the last 8 hours.

It's a dang conspiracy between the weather folks, milk producers and bread bakers!

I own a Paint and Body Shop, so I'm in on the conspiracy as well!!!!  Smiley  I always tell people when they leave, "I hope the next time I see you is in the grocery store, but if you do need our services we hope you come back!"

I talked to a couple of ambulance services that are my customers up in Pennsylvania on Thursday and Friday as they were getting hit by the most recent storms.

They both said that they are dead quiet DURING storms. However, once the storms pass and the roads start to clear up and people start driving - THEN things get really busy.
