I will have to pull out the old cookbook for that recipe...I made so many for weddings and then QUIT...they are a pain in the patoot....

Wolfie...is your house ready for A drive by yet?...I will bring you some sausage balls when we come for the drive by...I will make some this weekend.

I will not be able to make them this week because I have a girls date on Wednesday and I can not miss that.

Randy...the secret ingredient in your wifes banana bread is the buttermilk!!!! It sounds wonderful. Thanks

We are planning to do it this weekend coming up.  We ordered our tree from the Bynam Front Porch group and it will be here saturday.  Sadly, my wife vetoed the inflatables. Sad

Yeah, MC, have to keep a vigilant watch on the cheese straws or they go from yummies to little charcoal briquets quickly laugh If you have a big budget, Southern Season has some GOOD ones (Carolina Cupboard). The little bakery in downtown Siler has some that will melt in your mouth far more reasonable if you don't want to tackle it on your own angel laugh

Yes, SSeason's price is why I hang on to the cheese straws recipe laugh And was thrilled with being able to buy a little spatter of a favored treat at the bakery in Siler at times when elder issues just made it where you didn't have time to fire up the oven and cookbook, but wanted to keep a tradition alive.

^ That reminds me of another good inexpensive gift--Southern Supreme in Bear Creek.  They've got these little 8oz fruitcakes that will knock your socks off.

The fruit cake is a nutty flavor @SS and the only one I've ever liked too, we going every year to the factory/store during the holiday seasons, thumbs up for the taste sample counter and warn apple cider.  I bought a spice mustard last year that was delcious on crackers
PS mamacash, be sending Chris iver my wat when we get back, I want a sample of those sausage balls, haven't got them off my mind

Randy, I am going to make your wife's Holly Berry Treats. Thanks for the recipe. Please tell me how long they will last. I am making them for a party and would like to make them ahead of time. Thank your wife for me.  Anne
