I'm surprised there's no discussion about the Town of Pittsboro paying for half of the cost of Sprindale Dr. No one taking exception to that?

Maybe so. Maybe a $30k gift to Voller is just compensation for all he does for the Town.

Last week the Chatham Record reported that negotiations are underway, with the Town offering to pay one half of the cost of improvements to Springdale Drive once they are completed. My understanding is that the Town had an agreement that the improvements would be paid entirely by Voller. I don't understand why the Town is now willing to share this cost. Search this site's archives if you want the history of this controversy.

OR, it could be viewed as a short cut if coming from Chapel Hill direction to hang a left onto Springdale through CF to access the east side of Pittsboro and not go through town stop lights, traffic circle jam etc..... Road runs BOTH ways then...will CF protest through traffic reverse?

This is why the traffic calming devices were asked for on Springdale. Of course, I bet the amount and speed of traffic will increase through CF. The people that live here do not mind speeding through the neighborhood, so I am confident that strangers will have no problem ignoring the speed limit.

I drove through CF Sunday, and it is not a convenient cut through, I was checking it out. for the CF residents, it will be a big help, and I am sure the Springdale Dr. people will hate that the CF residents will be using their road as an entrance. but the whole cut through 15-501 to East St. is not really convenient.

I was testing reverse "waters" ... why would I want to drive through a "cookie cutter" neighborhood vs. a vibrant town? But it will happen..

Jay, and others. Voller's attorney offered a contract to the town where the town would pay 30K and he would pay the rest to open Springdale Dr. to CF. The town board has not voted on the proposal yet.

Part of the proposed Subdivision/Zoning ordinance would require new subdivisions to be attached by a road to existing adjacent subdivisions, so that the subdivisions would not be dead-ends.

If he asked for 30, then it only cost 20 and he will keep the rest.
