The Northwood boys soccer team lost to rival Cardinal Gibbons in last night championship game in Raleigh.

After tieing the game 1-1 in the second half, the Chargers lost 2-1 in overtime as Cardinal Gibbons scored a goal at the 5 minute point of overtime.

I will have pictures and a video clip sometime tomorrow.

As a benchmark indicating just  how good the Chargers were this year, and how close they really came.  After barely getting by our Chargers for the conference championship, here is the outcome of the state championship game:

CARDINAL GIBBONS ROLLS PAST SHELBY 5-0 IN NCHSAA 2-A MEN’S SOCCER
