We should just pin this to the top.  It seems to be happening almost everyday.

I know, I have to turn my alarm off because it keeps going off every time another county has a warning.  I guess a thunder storm warning requires 56 mph winds.  Me personally, I just wish it would go off only for a tornado warning.  It wakews me up all night sometimes while I'm sleeping, I just unplugg it.

Thanks for the heads up.

I only turn on our weather radio when there snow or a hurricane predicted before of all the warning alarms.  Just spent a few days with my Mom in the foothills and she has a scanner.  Damn thing (the scanner, not Mom) kept waking me up all night with cops chasing drunks and peeping toms!  Entertaining in the daylight but annoying at night.

A good reminder that this is a big county - I have a lush crop of many types of mushrooms in my lawn because we have had so much rain. Drenching downpour at my house about 4pm yesterday, just as I had to leave. 2 miles down the road, the sun was shining with only an occasional raindrop.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to get out my manual and check it out.  My weather alert is tied into my scanner, not sure I can do it, but will read up on it.
We got nothin yesterday in Pittsboro, just some heavy lightning morth of us.

We didn't get any rain either..hopefully today we will get some...my rain barrel needs feeling up again. one good rain will fill it up...
Randy, my weather radio is just a weather radio..not tied in with my scanner. I purchased it at Radio Shack some time ago..they are really nice to have especially when you are asleep. I can set mine for flood watch, storms, hurricanes, fire etc. I just have all the surrounding counties programed in plus chatham of course.

Thought I "blew" it last night by not firing up the "rainmaker". (too tired after work), decided to turn in early and then the "storm" arrived. More noise than rain, got quarter inch, but any is welcome.

It got very dark very quickly in Pittsboro just a few minutes ago, enough that people scurried outside to roll up windows.
