As everyone knows by now, Chatham County resident Clay Aiken has thrown his hat in the ring for a House seat.    Wonder if he has a chance.

I saw his campaign commercial. His message, largely, is "pity me, I had an unstable childhood".

I saw it this morning also. One thing I found stupid is he says in one sentence " I want to make sure all people are represented equally, even if they did not vote for me". Then he goes on to say " Renee Elmers said she would do this and then goes to Washington and votes on things I disagree with".

Does he not think there are those that would disagree with his liberal stance?     What a crock.

Doubtful - but considering what we have in the White House, anything is possible.

The outcome will be determined in the Republican primary. Frankly, I'm hoping the cross-eyed bimbo gets unseated by a qualified candidate who will actually represent the people of NC Congressional District 2.

Yah, because a homosexual Democrat is sure to be just that representation.

I am no Ellmers fan but Aiken has no idea about District 2 outside of the Governors Club area.

Not sure he is even familiar with that.  He lives in that other uber exclusive area of Chatham County by Old Chatham Golf Club called the "Hills of Rosemont."

You missed the point. I was talking about the Republican primary. The party needs a candidate who will actually work to bring jobs to our district.  All Elmers has done since she got to Washington is preen for photos with Boehner and other big names to enhance her image. I'd rather have someone who will work for the people he/she represents than just work on his/her reelection. Enough already.

Andy, the problem ain't the D vs. the R.  The problem is all. of. them vs. us.

So, no, I didn't miss the point.

Aiken is more concerned about his singing careeer, I am sure it will take precedence over a Congressional win. IMO Aiken is in the race because the Dems know popular names win votes.

Maybe he got a rise out of coming in second on American Idol and is looking to give it another shot.
