I don't understand the trend? toward businesses with mysterious business hours.  I have seen more stores, especially restaurants, that are open only on certain days of the week or certain hours of the day.  One would think, with rent to pay and utilities to cover, every dollar of revenue would be sought after.  I also see a trend of absentee owners thinking that startups can be successful with something other than blood sweat and tears (and love) on behalf of the owners.

It is often beneficial to one's bottom line concerns, with regard to the IRS, to have a failing/failed business.

Don't take after me, I haven't made it up; it was the advice to us of more than one tax preparer (and not at H&R Block).

I often wonder if a business which has the appearance of not chasing every last dollar, considering what it costs to just keep the lights on, has a savvy tax fella on tap.

Folks, this is the country we live in now.
