New firepower in the mud household. 2 semiautomatic weapons, each hold 144 rounds.

That thing might qualify as an assault weapon in some neighborhoods.

Proposed Senate Bill:
"Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
Background check of owner and any transferee;
Type and serial number of the firearm;
Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration"
I guess they want this to make it easier to publish our information in the newspaper.

Sounds like the start of a Police State. Sure, register the legal owners but what about all of the stolen weapons out there?

I've absolutely no intention of registering anything with anybody. They can KMA.

First registration and the confiscation!! Sounds like Germany and Italy in the 1930's all over again.

There seems to be an epidemic of sorts. Mine is still right here on my hip where it belongs.

Here is a definition from Merriam Webster Dictionary
Definition of MILITIA
1
a : a part of the organized armed forces of a country liable to call only in emergency
b : a body of citizens organized for military service
2
: the whole body of able-bodied male citizens declared by law as being subject to call to military service (draft?)
Does this mean the militia is the National Guard?
Here is the USSC definition of a militia...me and every non felon on this board above the age of 18. You will find this is the only definition that matters. What will be an outrage is if Obama manages to change 2 people and instead of amending the constitution simply makes up new definitions.

In other words, they want to burden gun owners with a tax many of us cannot afford in these challenging economic times. And I bet they have government funded buyback programs like Cash for Clunkers.
It is brilliant if you think about it. A gun owner that can't afford to keep them turns them in for cash that the government will eventually tax him for. The only difference is that the gun owner cant make money out of thin air but the government can based on that same poor guy's future earnings.
There is a whole new art form to subjugation folks. Figures that America would come up with it. You know, because of our world famous ingenuity.

That's a great point Pi, but incomplete...
There is a whole new art form to subjugation folks. Figures that America would come up with it. You know, because of our world famous ingenuity turned inwards and poised to destroy us all.
