Obama's Coalition is imploding

"Unless Obama demonstrates he can lead on the economy and change course on his agenda, the President who quickly rose to fame for his powerful campaign coalition is poised to remain famous for losing it even quicker."
Reads as if Obama is falling short in alot of areas and his popularity is declining with a diverse group of people. Article states he got 67% of the Hispanic vote, but today, that is down to 43% due to his failure to push for a more comprehensive immigration reform. Liked this part - the Liberals are still hanging with him though. Does that tell us anything??

Sure, he's down, but if you look at the polls it is pretty close to the 50/50 split we have had for a long time. We are a long way out from 2012.

Just compare Obama's numbers with Reagans after two years in office. Dutch was a little behind.

So are you saying he can carry on as is without any damage control? If his own camp is restless, surely he needs to take it all in consideration. I don't believe the "hope and change" is going to work the next go around.

No, I'm saying that for all those who want a leader who doesn't govern by looking at the polls he might be the guy. Only time will tell how it all shakes out, no matter what people say now.
Folks that troll the headlines every day - such as yourself - looking for the latest 'gotcha' type of story to start a new thread may be counting their chickens a bit early, as they say. Really though, all this article basically says is that if the economy doesn't get better, he's going to have a tough sell in 2012. Amazing, really going out on a limb, what a scoop.
Want to bet what will happen if it does turn around?

Just so you know - I don't go trolling - I suscribe to several newspapers online.
If it is a gotcha story as you imply - it was successful - you bit. But, since it does not praise, glorify, or whatever to the current Presidency......you want to throw darts at those of us who are ready for our nation to take a different course. Not all people see Obama in the same light you do, Just as the majority of folks see Bush in the same light.
Do you not agree it will be a tough sell if the economy does not turn around? Nothing amazing about the answer. Would you vote for him again if it does not turn around and maybe gets worse??
What will happen if it does turn around? Not that I think it will..........but if it does, yes, he will have a better chance. I think we are just going to get more of the same, or worse. The Healthcare Reform has not fully kicked in and there's going to be too many surprises in it. You know which one that is - the one Pelosi said they had to hurry up and pass so they could read what is in it? Real intelligent way of thinking, much less to govern.

It would have been a good START, if the past Presidency didn't create this FALSE economy and let all financial sectors run roughshod, that we are now having to suffer the consequences of. I am confident that those involved came at smelling like a rose however.

Would it be possible for those of you who approve of our current disaster to find another argument besides
"Blame it on the Bush"?
So.........where were all of you when Bush was "creating the false economy"? Why did you not rise up and organize - like the Tea Party?
You blame the economy as it is now on Bush??? You don't think the current administration has taken it to a whole new level??
You go ahead and cross your fingers for America's future, and it definitely wouldn't hurt to say a prayer.
The rate we're going now, by 2012, a prayer will be the only thing we've got that won't be taxed.

Ok, maybe not trolling. Parroting? Is that better?
I'm just saying that perhaps a diversity in the news feeds you subscribe to would deliver a diversity in the ideas you post here. The same thing that is wrong with the 'all praise' routine you criticize is exactly what is wrong with the 'all bad' routine. It is often only part f the story.
The party line of late around here is that 'we love to discuss ideas - why are liberals afraid of talking about certain ideas,' however, when a good idea or good example of something comes up, it just gets ignored by most of the because it doesn't fit with the party line. No policy is good, no decision is wise. We get it.
By the way, what light do I see Obama in?

I didn't ignore the good idea about the duct tape.
Other than that, I can't really comment on your post, except for the "no policy is good, no decison is wise". Glad you got it.

You are also the same person who posted the "Obama Admits He Is A Muslim" video.
Again, since you ignored it last time, what light do I see Obama in?
What was the duct tape reference to?

What does the video have to do with this thread?
Duct tape reference is in the Neighbor to Neighbor.
As for what light you see Obama - meaning what? You are not a fan of Bush, but there are alot of those around. I think you are optimistic that IF Obama should by some remote chance turn some things around, he might have a good chance for
a second term, based on your thoughts about the polls.

The posting of that video speaks directly to your motives here from the very start of this administration and the kind of silly thing you are willing to throw against the wall for political effect. It's obvious that not only do you not like Obama, you never even considered liking him - or anything he does. That is why every single thread you start is basically a variation on why you don't like him. So you may subscribe to several news sources, but something tells me they all have that same basic theme.
As for how I see him, I do think he is still a bit green, I don't think he walks on water and I do think he has made some mistakes. However, I sure as heck don't think we'd be better off with Bush or McCain/Palin.
Since my point about ignoring good ideas was in relation to national politics, that's why I didn't get your reference to a local thread about duct tape. At first I thought it had something to do with Homeland Security.
Trust me, if the economy turns around in the next two years those polls will look a lot different. So prove me wrong, is there anything he has done you think was good?
