We decided to have her cremated and we will be bringing her home this week to be with us. We have started to adjust to life not having her around, but there are times when we feel sad that she is not there but everyday is a little better.
Thank you for the kind thoughts.

I too, am sorry for your pain SH. I lost my beloved yellow lab "Ginger" after 8 years to cancer as well. We had her get surgery, but then more lumps, and I couldn't bear to put her through the operation again. It had really taken a toll on her.
I have her pic tucked into various place all around the house. She was such a large part of our family. She is forever in my heart.
That is what I did with my Cammie cat that died from cancer. It is like having a child's picture. One thing I did was I got a frame ornament for our Christmas tree and she is on the tree every year with us.

We are going to hold off on another dog for now, we have a couple of guinea pigs to hold, not the same I know.
Ya, know, I felt exactly the same way when I lost my cat of almost 19 yrs. Then this little other creature (stray cat), that so desperately needed a home entered my life. It was a healing process for both of us, my loss and he was abandoned. Just saying. You can't REPLACE the one you just lost, but you can sure make another one happy by giving them a loving home and there is a LOT to be said for that. My condolences in your loss Silk. It is tough.

It's really so hard to to go through these things. Having been through this in my life that I haven't had a dog since my last Rotti passed on. The tears in my house lased for months. Somebody was crying in one room or the other to the point where I was getting really concerned for the wife and kids. But time heals all wounds. I'm sorry that you are going through this and hope it gets better soon.

We take her on every vacation and picnic and public place we go. She loves people so. Sorry for yours and I can only imagine it will be the same for us. Thank goodness she is only 4 right now.

Sorry for your lose. Dr Walton sucks. She could have done more for my dog whom I ended up taking to another vet. As far as I'm concerned, if Dr. Walton had acted when I first took my dog up there, she wouldnt have been dead 4 days later. I will never take another animal to her. I would highly recommend n one else too but its your choice.

All I can say is my dog lived for 16+ years and was healthy until the cancer set in and I thank Dr Walton for her care and dedication.
