And businesses that do not have to provide bathroom facilities do so as a favor to their shopping public.  Be sure to say THANK YOU!!!

It is their right not too, but it still does not make sense to me.  If my business is sales, I want people to stay in my store as long as possible.  Usually, the longer they stay, the more they spend.

you have never paid for a public restroom installed, with handicapped features. flooring, corners, width of entry and room, style if fixtures. at my place, we cheaped out with a unisex feature and it still cost a fortune, but it was a bar, required. if it is not required, you are on the hook for damages to the building and patrons.

stupid Red Hot Chilli Peppers were mad one night, and tried to take it out on the porcelain. I never liked them, even after they got famous.

Actually, I have.  My wife has a handicap accessible bathroom in her office.

of course she does, I forgot. not like using an old installation for employees at all, but a major expense. plumbing fixtures, wider construction, cabinets and handle stuff. it is expensive.

ADA laws cost employers a bunch of money.

I thought you had to have a bathroom in a public store. At least that is what the Health & Building Inspections Departments told me! It literally cost me thousands of dollar to include a handicapped bathroom in my office.

A variety of smaller stores don't have public restroom options. Not clear as to why this is such a surprise?
I know those that do, or are required spend a good sum of money to do so.
Anyone know exactly where the line is drawn on MUST or opt to provide said public restroom in a business?

Of course "all the money they make" is for the SCHOOLS in our county, not to line their own pockets.

mom's job to plan and prepare for potty training, not the PTA's.
Money for the schools?  NOW that's funny!  Just like the lottery I guess?  I haven't really seen any changes or much improvements from that money yet!  And as the for the potty training remark, Moms aren't training a puppy... children GO when they NEED to!  Try being a little more understanding :/

I believe the Thrifts report every year the profits that go to the schools in great detail. They work VERY HARD to achieve the goals that they do.
If you don't like what they do, how they operate, or the lack of public restroom, then go to a mall, then report back the results of % that directly benefits our local schools. JMO.

Some of yall are downright hostile today.  Are you missing the sun or something?

I am guessing the problem was that the mother did not realize a store would not have a bathroom, and after she found out, it was too late.  I know I would have just assumed that every business that serves the public has a bathroom for customers.  I also think some people expect more out of a 3 year old than they are capable of.

I kept mine in training pants until she had control. I also knew where all the public bathrooms were (knowledge left over from my pregnancy).

Now, that's just down right RUDE!  Actually, the prices at the THRIFT store are getting close to the malls! Not to mention, all the JUNK they try selling!...  And I would to personally love to see those percentages.... Angry

If you don't like the Thrifts product line, why are you going there? You are certainly free to go elsewhere.
I can't provide you the entire details of the profits/% donated. I don't work for them. I just have read past reports of results of how profits have been distributed to schools...what the schools DECIDE to spend it on may be another?
I don't feel like you are being fair to their mission, and it's NOT about your personal convenience, just saying.

oddly, the 9:09 remark about rudeness and high prices (?) and JUNK at the thrift store got deleted. big surprise, that.

Angela, do you do more than sell beer?
