going to sound like a wish list! But who knows, you may have exactly what we're looking for.

We're looking for land in Chatham that's on water: creek, pond, river, lake.
Can't be in a gated community since we may be buying a Clayton i-house. That's an eco friendly house and it's considered a manufactured home. Will need southern exposure.

Doesn't need to be close to anything in particular, as in shopping and schools. Road doesn't need to be paved. Of course the land needs to perk and have access to electricity. It doesn't matter whether it's already listed or not. Elizabeth Anderson is our agent.

We've been in Chatham since 1980 and intend to stay here. Your responses will be appreciated.

I think its very cool that you're considering the Clayton iHouse! I learned about it in a green building design course I'm taking at CCCC in Pittsboro.

Will keep my eyes open for land as you describe ...

T-bone, pleased that you've heard about the i-house. There are two model houses being built in NC right now and should be ready for showing in a week or so. If they are as good as they sound, we'll be getting one.

We appreciate your offer to keep an eye out for suitable land. Thanks!

Mike,
I have 3+ acres at the end of Blakes Dive.

Blakes Drive is 4 miles west of Cole Park Plaza along Manns Chapel Rd

1/2 mile gravel road

Currently it has a single wide trailer on it but I bought it because I like the location and the fact that it backed up to a wetland area at the western extreme of the Briar Chapel at Wilkerson Creek.

Lots of wildlife and very quiet.

The lowest area on the property is in the 100 year flood plane and a beaver family has built a large pond which probably come just up to the rear property line

The trailer could easily go away and the existing Well & Septic could be used for a 3 Bedroom home

large yard with a large garden area in the "bottom"

let me know if you are interested

Dave

Mike,

Are you still looking for land?  I have a 5 acre tract for sale off Manns Chapel that has a creek on it.  There are no restrictive covenants.

Contact me with your e-mail address and I will send you the information.

Thanks,
