Our little brown feist dog, Rascal, is missing on the west end of Alston Chapel Rd. He is white with brown spots. Neighbor says she saw a white pickup slow down in front of 4157 Alston Chapel Rd and possibly pick something up like a dog though she couldn't be for sure.  If you have any information, please call 919-542-0197. Thanks.

People need to leave dogs alone that are out in the country, I saw this guy picking up the dog yesterday. He had no business picking him up, he was not lost, not a stray. People need to tend to their own business.

Here is the guy that posted on the Chat List this morning,

Found 11-20-09 Male Neutered White/Brown Rat Terrier Breed on Alston Chapel Road.  Very pudgy well taken care of dog white with large brown spots, no tags.  Please call ASAP, we have in our garage but cannot keep him.  He misses his family terribly.  795-7406 or 542-4541.

Thanks to my neighbors my dog was found! He was indeed following the white truck which he probably thought was my husband's. I'm thankful they picked him up; I certainly didn't want him getting hit by a car. We are blessed to have caring neighbors out here on Alston Chapel Rd.

Kstraughn - How can you say people shouldn't care about wandering dogs!!!  God Bless the kind soul who picked him up and found his owners.  How the heck can someone know if a dog is lost or just wandering out in the country??  You obviously aren't a dog owner or if you are, you are certainly not a responsible one.

Agree. I'll remember that comment next time I see a dog smashed in the road and some panicked owner hoping to find their pet. I saw two this AM on my way to work, right on the road front at the end of a LONG driveway (I am assuming they got curious as to their boundaries) and people slamming on brakes so as not to hit them. There are leash laws, but more so, there is a responsibility to watch over your pets IMO and keep them out of harms way.

To start with I am the neighbor who lives closest to where all this happened. Anyone who is a neighbor knows this dog as he travels quite often with his buddy on the road. So to NIBOR, if you don't know the details, please read my quote at the end of my post before you accuse me of not being a responsible dog owner. It wasn't my dogs who were in the road.

Now if only you could control the people driving up and down the road are all neighbors and know this wandering dog you would have it made. . .  .

Kerry, thanks for calling us and letting us know about Rascal. He has developed characteristics of a rounder. We've been keeping him up during the day since this happened.
Beth, the peacock has taken to roosting in the pecan tree with our guinea fowl. He's getting a case of mistaken identity.  Smiley

In the event Mr. Surles reads this - bless you.  And thanks to all who take on loose animals.  I hope that if mine ever are loose, a kind soul will do the same.

And to Gene, for providing the Chatlist and BBS forums for making it easier for all of us to communicate about such things and reunion possible.
