What the Pittsboro Town Board has accomplished
* Pittsboro Town Board has passed resolutions supporting local causes.
* Pittsboro Town Board balanced the budget.
* Pittsboro Town Board has a large reserve of funds for a "rainy day" and/or important projects in the Town.
* Pittsboro Town Board has consistently tried to improve the water treatment plant including a big project this past year and They have hiring more staff to run the plant continuously and test water.
* Pittsboro Town Board recognizes that the future is not with the existing plant and the Pittsboro Town Board has executed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chatham County, OWSA, Durham, Raleigh, Cary, Apex,, et al to build a modern plant on the west side of Jordan Lake which in the future will provide high quality water to the region. Pittsboro will receive seven million gallons per day.
* Pittsboro Town Board adopted the town's first capital improvements plan in June of this year.
* Pittsboro Town Board created and adopted the town's first pedestrian master plan for Pittsboro.
* Pittsboro Town Board has modernized the town's planning and zoning ordinances. For example, owners of buildings in the C-4 downtown district can now live and/or lease space on the second and third floors of these buildings. (Some citizens are doing this today.)
* Pittsboro Town Board held it's first staff/board retreat in January of 2009, which was facilitated by leadership from the UNC School of Government. This retreat helped guide and shape the FY2009/2010 budget process, the planning process and governing process.
* Pittsboro Town Board modernized the town's recreation fee structure for upcoming development.
* Pittsboro Town Board passed a landscaping ordinance for future commercial development.
* Pittsboro Town Board has worked with and supported the Town's ABC Board. Today the Pittsboro ABC Board is profitable.
* Pittsboro Town Board has exhaustively studied the town's water and wastewater production and distribution system.
* Pittsboro Town Board publishes a "capital projects" report and update for every Town Board meeting.
* For over three years Pittsboro Town Board has had it's minutes transcribed and published so the public can get a clearer understanding of the business of Town government.
* Pittsboro Town Board has hired an extra planner specializing in recreation. The planner has been managing the Town's PART-F grants and the construction of the new town park in Powell Place and the expansion of the Kiwanis Park on Credle Street.
* Pittsboro Town Board has created the position for an assistant manager/finance director and subsequently hired a finance director.
* Pittsboro Town Board has been aggressive with grant applications and in the past three months received grants for public safety totaling over $250,000 and $2,634,000 for improvements at the waste water treatment plant.
* Pittsboro Town Board has supported new equipment and training for public safety including computers and cameras for the vehicles.
* After ten years the Pittsboro Town Board has moved the 3M reuse water project forward and the system will soon be operational. The town will be also be receiving a donation of 54 acres from 3M for future park development.
In Pittsboro the mayor chairs the meetings and does not vote unless the board is shy a member and/or a member recuses himself or herself to avoid a potential conflict of interest. In those cases the mayor would vote to break a tie.
Of course, knowing Randolph, he will try to claim credit for these all.

Kind of makes you wonder what Randy Voller supporter Pittsboro Together meant in their flyer last election about Mildew Team.

As your friend Linda Felt pointed out a while ago, you REALLY don't have much to do with the accomplishments of the Pittsboro Town Board. It pains me that Voller gets the rap for the terrible job that the board has done. For example, the Misenheimer thing. He was hired and fired by the board, not Voller. And yet some people still associate him with Voller. The mayor only gets to vote to break a tie, which has been probably no more than 1-2% of the total votes in Voller's term.

That's gonna leave a mark.

I have to be honest here, many things were set in motion under the previous Mayor, with the exception of the stimulus money for the waste water treatment plant.

I am curious: can any of the "nattering nabobs of negativity" tell little ol' me which items were actually done prior to the current Mayor's election in November of 2005?
Seems like you like it both ways: he is at fault for everything you dislike but gets no credit for what you do like. I read his web site and I have read his opponent's site. Enough said.

Surprised that the town of Pittsboro even existed before Randy Voller came along.

I see--more snide comments and no substance. Too bad, I actually thought you would be serious. I guess a picture of eggs on some fella's face will appear next with the usual piling on by the usual suspects. The only thing more predictable was the Woody Hayes offense: three yards and a cloud of dust. Since his opponent apparently is the manager of Applebees in Sanford perhaps you could work in a "California vegetable medley" on someones face.
