Here is a question? Do those no clog gutters really work ? Large tree beside the house keeps gutters clogged up all the time . Before I spend my money and time I would like someone who could give me a honest answer.

In my option NO they do not work. They are expensive and really are not worth it and are ugly. There are many other options that are not nearly as expensive, work better, and look better. I would be happy to look at them and tell you what your options are.

Woodgnome,

I'm glad this worked out for you.

But I feel compelled to warn you and others about the experiences I had with Mike of Seamless Gutters.  First time he did work for me a couple years back he was great.  No problems.

A few months back I need some new work done and I called Mike.   He showed up promptly to give an estimate and we agreed on a price and scheduled the work for a few days later to start what should have been a hald day to one day job.    He arrived in the morning and started working.

Since he had previously done work for me and had been recommended by others, I felt comfortable leaving him at my house to complete the job.  So I went to work.  But I also made the mistake of leaving a check for him.  Well when I came home that night, he had done maybe half (at best) of the work that we had agreed to.  I called him on his cell phone but he would not pick up.  I left messages for him to call me back.  Finally after 3 days, he finally answered his phone and gave me a somewhat plausible reason for doing half the job and promised that he would be back at my house to finish it.  We agreed on a day and time.  I was skeptical because he had never bothered to call me himself but I took him at his word.  Of course, he never showed up and meanwhile he had cashed my check. I called him numerous times and he never answered nor responded to my messages.  So I lost my money and still needed work done on my house.

I ultimately called another gutter company in Pittsboro who prompty came out and did a great job.

Certainly I made the stupid mistake of leaving money for him before he completed the job.   I thought Mike was someone who could be trusted but clearly I was wrong.

Anyway, just wanted to share that with you and others so no one else gets burned like I did.

I contracted Last Drop out of Carrboro (942-8306) years ago. Some of my neighbors also contracted with them. They did a great job for all of us. (I am assuming it is still owned by the same people...who were SO NICE)! Professional and reasonable.

Bob, who did you end up using to finish up Mike's work? I have a barn/shelter that I would like to use water run off from gutters to water horses. Any ideas you have from your reseach would help greatly. thanks.

Oakbrookfarm,

I used Chimneys Plus & Gutters Solutions out of Pittsboro: Chimneysplusgutters.com.

A guy named Charlie is the owner and a guy named Aaron came out for the estimate/quote.  Then two young gentlemen (I forget their names) came out and did a very professional job.  I would use them again in a heartbeat.
