4th of July Tea Party, in Raleigh
«

We're well on our way to another great event.
This one will be Saturday, July 4th from 1:00-5:00 at Halifax Mall in Raleigh.
This will be a family event, with games, speakers, food, and fun, while we celebrate our history, our freedom, and our heroes.
Please join us. We need your help to get the word out. We need volunteers to help before, during and after the Tea Party. We also need donations to help fund this program. We are truly "grassroots" and depend on every donation, no matter how small, to put this together.
We're paying for items "out of pocket", and our pockets are NOT deep!
But our ancestors paid for our freedoms with both blood and treasure, and now it's time for our generation to step up to the plate, and keep our freedoms safe.
Tell your friends, your family and your co-workers. Tell your various organizations and clubs and churches.
The topics covered by our speakers will include energy, taxes, 2nd amendment, our history, and out futures, as seen through the eyes of future candidates for elected office.
Please spend the afternoon with us, then top it off with fireworks at your favorite venue of choice.
our website is

Not until you stop stealing your name from people that actually earned it.

Is that your primary criticism? Would you support them if they were named something else?
I don't think they are "stealing" any name or being disrespectful. I believe that naming the event "Tea Party" honors the spirit of those that were willing to make a stand about taxes. It is because of the actions of the revolutionaries that we are able to hold these events in the first place. What is so wrong with paying homage to them by naming it as such?
If you want to get bent out of shape over irreverence, look no further than the many instances of main stream media types referring to the attendees as "teabaggers".
Either way, nit picking at the name obscures the real debate, does it not? That debate has to do with issues arising from government spending and use of taxpayer money.
I believe that as the tax rates begin to reflect the recent government spending, the issues being raised by these organizations will begin to resonate with even more Americans.

It's a little sad. I like tea parties with little sandwiches. I suppose I'll have to call them something else now.

It can be called whatever one chooses, what matters is the substance, and I am amazed that anyone is against the people of this nation coming together to actually try to make a difference. (Well, I guess for some, it is ok to rally as long as the "Correct" views are being expressed.)
I hope the TEA party is a great success and I plan to attend with my family. Just so you know, I'm not being paid anything by FOX or the RNC.

This is an excellent example of a phenomenon I'd like to explain.
As you can see, there's frustration building among the liberals. They can't justify Obama's spending and deep down, are becoming concerned about it themselves.
The Tea Parties are unsettling to them. They can't argue the salient point that taxes simply must increase for everyone (that gets a paycheck) to pay for all Obama's schemes.
And so, we see this kind of response...containing, at best, prepubescent humor, devoid of logic and reeking of desperation.

cc, I will personally upload pictures of folks and families at today's Tea Party, your photo is a insult to patriots of this great nation that's trying to stop this out of control federal government and taxation and the liberal movement that wants to take more money from it's citzens.
