I've heard that Siler City Chevrolet has closed.  Drove by there and lights are off, nobody in the office, etc.  I'm assuming the economy is to blame, but it's a shame that yet another business is closing its doors in Siler City.  I'm certain it's not the last though.

So did the Chevy dealer in Pittsboro, I think they were owned by the same folks.  All the cars are still their, but the dealership is closed.  I'm sure the cars will start being shipped away soon.

I hate that, they were good people to work with. Lately they had only used cars on the lot in Siler, very few new.

We wondered why the inventory was so VERY low in Pittsboro when we drove by Saturday night.  Glad you had good luck with the Siler location Silk Hope.  Our experience with the guys in Pittsboro gave bad car dealers a good name!  UGH!

Very unsettling news about the Chevy dealers.

I just hope Welford Harris stays going and profitable.  Their sales staff
is wonderful to deal with.

Welford probably owns his place outright, that is a big help. I too hope they can stick it out.

GMC is having a hard time, not sure if they'll last or not.  Last I saw on the news, rumors were they may have to file BR for reorganization, I think they're on the way out.  We will have to watch this closely.

I'm sure most of you know, but it is getting harder and harder to buy a new car in Chatham County these days............Two fewer dealerships, Siler City and Pittsboro Chevrolet had all of their inventory loaded onto car carriers last week.  I guess good for Ford in Pittsboro but a sign of the times for small town dealerships.

Don't forget about Welford Harris, they have been in Siler for decades.

They are still in business for now, anyway.

I received a letter from Wilkerson Pontiac, Buick, GMC in Sanford asking for our business now that the Chatham dealers are gone, in the letter it stated that they are our "local" dealer.

For those of you that used their service department, try Auto Pro on 15-501. I can't say enough good things about their work and great prices. I have sent so many people there. All of whom have been thrilled with the work and price. SUPPORT OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES!

The Chevrolet place in Pittsboro has had a hard time for years now... switching owners and what not.
